 Club DJs vs. Mobile DJs
A "Club DJ" is someone who specialises in a particular style of music such as House, Retro or RnB, and looks for a venue to feature themselves and their music. A mobile DJ on the other hand is someone who brings a full DJ setup, and a large range of music to someone's house to provide the music requested by them.

Generalist or Specialist?
If for example you are a "House" DJ playing music in a "House" club, to people who only enjoy listening to "House", then it will be hard to not please the crowd, almost anyone who can buy records/cds can do this. If however, you are a mobile DJ at a 21st, with ages from 10 up to 50, where people may want House, but they also want RnB and classic hits, then you will really need to refine your skills at crowd reading in order to keep everyone happy else eventually you'll have an empty dance floor. It is important to first learn these generalist skills before becoming a specialist and this is how Discosource Professional DJs have been trained.

Our DJs - Generalists & Specialists
With most mobile events, our DJs have learnt to become generalists in their profession. This means that they first learn how to play music from the 50s to latest hits and club tracks before they specialise in a particular style. This is an advantage over a DJ who first learns how to be a specialist because the fundamental skills of crowd reading, taking requests and structuring an event are learnt very early in their learning to DJ. Specialising in a particular style now becomes no problem, it's simply a matter of collecting more music.
